Founded in 2015, Design Pickle is a graphic design company with a difference. Instead of hiring an in-house graphic designer or a freelancer to work on visuals, Design Pickle matches you with a vetted professional designer to work on your projects.
Today, I can reveal that Design Pickle has just acquired the Pickle.com domain. In a confirmation email from Design Pickle’s CEO Russ Perry, Russ revealed that his company had just switched DNS last night.
That DNS switch means that Pickle.com now redirects to DesignPickle.com.
According to WHOIS history, Pickle.com was acquired by Design Pickle from Scripps Networks LLC, the American mass media company that was acquired by Discovery Inc in 2018 for $14.6 billion. During the acquisition, the domain moved from MarkMonitor to GoDaddy.
Design Pickle’s acquisition of Pickle.com likely signifies an intent to move beyond just offering design services. While Design Pickle as a brand name has served the company very well up to now, shortening to Pickle and Pickle.com would offer more versatility in the services that Design Pickle could provide. Congrats to Design Pickle on a useful strategic acquisition.
