Domain broker Jen Sale is the CEO and co-founder of Evergreen.com and has a long history as one of the industry’s top salespeople, calling on almost twenty years of experience to sell some of the most desirable domains in existence.
With perhaps a touch of nominative determinism, Jen Sale knows sales tactics inside out. Over the weekend, Jen took to Twitter to share some of her outbound sales nuggets that may be of use to the wider domaining community.
The first involves cc’ing multiple people from the same company on an outbound email:
Nugget: When outbound marketing #domains, do not email just one individual within an org. Cc multiple execs/key stakeholders/decision makers. Ignite a conversation and accountability ✌️

Jen then opened the floor to questions:
They say it takes 5+ follow-ups to ignite a connection/sale via a cold call/email 🤷🏼♀️ That said, be strategic with your follow up timeframes (and who you’re contacting). I prefer the 3/6/12 etc day approach. And always provide an opt-out. Good luck 🤞 pic.twitter.com/tK3EpXu97w

It’s harder for people to say “no” face-to-face or on a phone call. Lockdown a meeting or conference call and qualify your leads 👌 #nugget #domains

In terms of number of individuals per company I’d contact at one time? If so, 3-5 ppl. Always the CEO + marketing/legal/digital reps 👌

Make sure your email is highly customised/personalised towards the lead (company) too. If it’s generic, you will be banished to the Junk folder. Forever ☠️

Respect the individual’s request/s and do not follow-up again.
If their position changes in the future, they have your information and they can reach out to you if/when they choose to do so.
