Motion Industries, a leading distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation replacement parts, has announced that the company is rebranding to simply Motion.
The decision to drop “Industries” from its brand name is, according to a press release, “intended to solidify the Company’s structure and advance its position in the marketplace.” The shorter name also comes with a domain name upgrade.
Also announced in the press release is Motion’s intent to transition from MotionIndustries.com to the Motion.com domain name. As of writing, Motion.com redirects to MotionIndustries.com.
According to DomainIQ, the name was likely acquired around March 2020 from Learning in Motion Inc, a Santa Cruz-based company. As of February 2020, the domain was being sold using an Efty landing page.
The Motion.com domain appears on a list of names sold by domain brokerage Lumis, suggesting that Lumis was responsible for this sale.
