On January 29th, 2021, Elliot Silver of DomainInvesting.com published the news that the Home.com domain sold in what could be an eight-figure deal with Andrew Miller representing the buyer, and Larry Fischer representing the seller.
That seller is Anything.com Ltd, a company that has amassed one of the greatest portfolios of domain names in the world filled with thousands of premium domains including Borrow.com, Friend.com, and Squad.com.
It’s relatively rare for Anything.com to sell its domain names, or so I thought. I found 9 domains that Anything.com sold in 2020*, and there are likely to be more.
Table of Contents
Teams.com
The most notable sale from Anything.com was probably Teams.com. It was sold to a currently unknown MarkMonitor client, but the most likely end-user for Teams.com is Microsoft. The computer giant offers a product called Microsoft Teams which had 115 million daily active users as of October 2020.
Blade.com
Blade.com was acquired by Blade, the aviation equivalent of Uber, in December 2020 just as the company announced its intention to start trading on the NASDAQ.
Sante.com
Santé is the French word for health, but it’s also the name of a life sciences venture capital firm founded in 2006. The company upgraded from SanteVentures.com to Sante.com in mid 2020.
LivingRoom.com
LivingRoom.com transferred to corporate registrar Safenames in 2020, away from Anything.com’s possession, and has shown a landing page for The Living Room, with no other details disclosed aside from the fact that The Living Room is based in Los Angeles.
Finance.org
The only .ORG in our list is an incredibly strong one. Finance.org is another name that transferred to Safenames in early 2020, according to DomainIQ data. The current owner is unknown.
After.com
This one-word .COM moved into Escrow.com’s holding account in 2020, suggesting that the name may have been sold on a lease-to-own agreement. After.com is now being used by After Services Inc, a cremation service.
LAC.com
LAC.com, a three-letter .COM, moved away from Anything.com’s registrar account in October 2020 and now displays the website for LAC, a provider of antioxidant supplements. The brand is owned by ONI Global, described as one of Asia’s largest specialty retailers.
Stockton.com
Stockton Mortgage Corporation made the decision to upgrade from SMCApproved.com to Stockton.com, with the Kentucky-based company acquiring Stockton.com around August 2020, according to WHOIS.
Newlink.com
Chinese energy infrastructure company Newlink acquired Newlink.com in early 2020, according to WHOIS historical data. In mid-2020, Newlink raised $128 million in funding, and have recently raised another $100 million.
*This article was written just after the Home.com sale was announced. In a February 10th blog post, DomainInvesting.com pointed out a website — DomainsForSale.com — that contains confirmation of these domain sales and more.
