Sedo’s Dave Evanson Sells Triple.com for $220,000

Sedo domain broker Dave Evanson is on a roll. After selling Zag.com for $450,000 last week, Evanson is back again with another six-figure sale.

In a tweet this afternoon, Dave disclosed that he had successfully brokered the sale of the domain name Triple.com.

The sale of Triple.com, a sought after one-word domain, will be listed as the third-largest domain sale of the year so far, according to DNJournal’s sales chart.

As of publishing, the domain name’s buyer is unknown, with the name currently in the process of moving away from a WHOIS privacy protected Enom account.

Archival copies of the domain show that it was once used as a domain registrar and hosting provider but it has been largely dormant for a while.

Crunchbase shows several potential buyers for the domain name, including a Los Angeles-based augmented reality app currently operating on Triple.io, and a South Korean travel data company with $9 million in funding, currently using Triple-corp.com.

The .CO version, Triple.co, is also being used, hosting the site of a social travelling marketplace.
