Sushi.com Buyer Revealed

Recently, I published the news that the valuable Sushi.com domain name sold in a transaction that looks to have been facilitated by Afternic, per WHOIS information I reviewed.

As you might expect, the buyer of Sushi.com doesn’t have much to do with the selling of raw fish, but the buyer has a lot to do with blockchain and cryptocurrency technology.

Sushi.com is now owned by SushiSwap, an automated market-making (AMM) decentralized exchange founded by the anonymous “Chef Nomi.”

The SushiSwap project reportedly changed ownership in September 2020 with FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried put in charge.

The associated Sushi coin is currently trading around $15, up from $3 at the start of 2021. The push has been driven by the interest in Sushi’s upcoming lending platform, dubbed BentoBox.

SushiSwap has been operating on the Sushi.finance domain, as well as SushiSwap.fi.
