James Booth may be focusing his time on amassing an NFT empire, but his company still owns a whole host of the best domain names available.
While he owns some top .com domains, Booth also has a valuable portfolio of .io names, accumulated in the last couple of years. That portfolio is now one domain lighter, as Booth announced that he sold Neon.io for $240,000.
Just sold the original NFT (a domain) –https://t.co/0yoc3Q45gY for $240,000 🎉

At $240,000 the name, which appears to have sold via the Squadhelp marketplace, is a record for the .io extension. It beats the previous incumbent, Mint.io, which attained a $230,000 sales price last November.
The .io extension had a stellar 2021, amassing $4.2 million in publicly-disclosed sales, more than three times the total for 2020. Is .io set for another record-breaking year in 2022?
Update, February 20th, 2022: The domain sale has fallen through.
