Affiliate.com domain name sells

A category-defining domain name has just changed hands.

According to statistics, the affiliate marketing industry is bigger than ever in 2022. A Statista study shows that this year, affiliate marketing spending in the United States is due to hit an all-time high of $8.2 billion.

A Finestack article also suggests that more than 80% of brands have an affiliate program.

In short, affiliate marketing is still going strong.

That makes the exact-match .com, Affiliate.com, extremely valuable.

Today, I noticed that Whois records for Affiliate.com changed, suggesting that the domain had changed owners.

I knew that Andrew Miller, responsible for facilitating sales such as Home.com and Candy.com, was brokering the name. A quick call to Miller confirmed the sale and his role in it:

“I can confirm I advised on and oversaw the acquisition and sale of the Affiliate.com domain name. While I cannot disclose the price, it was a very strong deal and a win-win for the buyer and seller. I am excited to watch it evolve into an incredibly strong company and brand, backed by a team with an incredible track record”

As of publishing, there are few clues as to the identity of the new owner, but the comment from Andrew Miller above suggests that the domain will be developed into a significant project soon.
