Yes, Blink.com Was Acquired by Amazon

Earlier this year, I reported that the ultra-premium domain Blink.com had moved from an Escrow.com-controlled registrar account to MarkMonitor, a corporate registrar.

While the new owner’s identity is obscured by generic MarkMonitor Whois data, navigating to Blink.com does tell us who the purchaser was.

Blink.com redirects visitors to BlinkForHome.com, a smart security brand that Amazon acquired in 2017 for $90 million.

Amazon, which also owns smart security brand Ring, has been selling Blink-branded products through the Amazon marketplace, but its corporate website has been somewhat forgotten.

The acquisition of Blink.com may suggest that Amazon is putting more resources into Blink as a standalone brand. In the same way that Ring adverts direct consumers to Ring.com, could we see Amazon creating ads and a more comprehensive website for Blink.com?
