In February 2022, Crunchbase introduced “The Unicorn Board,” a curated list of the most valuable companies in the world. To become part of the unicorn list, a company has to attain a valuation of $1 billion or more. As of June 9th, 2022, there were 1,335 companies listed on the Crunchbase Unicorn Board.
Crunchbase’s original Unicorn Board provides all the basic details aside from one thing, each company’s listed domain name. I’ve done what Crunchbase hasn’t, and compiled a list of the domain names used by all unicorn companies on The Unicorn Board. There were 1,313 companies listed with valid domain names.
These domain names give a helpful overview of the type of domains used by the world’s most valuable companies, and some domain choices may surprise you. It’s worth noting that this data is sourced directly from Crunchbase. The domains listed at Crunchbase may vary from the names currently used by these companies, especially if that company has recently upgraded domains.
Here is part 1 of the list of domains. Part 2 will be published here next week. Of course, there will be an analysis of this list published in a few weeks.
