Cherry AB Acquires Cherry.com in 7 Figure Deal

The domain name Cherry.com was on the move in August, with the domain name moving away from long-time owner Jamie Cherry’s Network Solutions account.

The movement, publicly noted by Jamie Zoch, resulted in Cherry.com moving to a privacy protected account, with the domain’s nameservers also switching.

This all suggested that Cherry.com had been sold. While an email to Jamie Cherry a couple of weeks ago went unanswered, broker Maxwell Cashman of NewReach was able to confirm the sale. Cashman also confirmed that the deal was in the seven-figure range.

The domain name’s buyer has been confirmed to me as Cherry AB, a Swedish gambling company that was established in 1963. The company owns several brands and employs over 1,000 people.

Cherry’s corporate website is located at Cherry.se. It’s unclear whether Cherry.com will replace Cherry.se as the company’s main brand destination online, or whether Cherry.com will be built into its own project.

Regardless, it’s a stellar ultra premium asset to acquire.
