US fintech brand Pry Financials was acquired by Brex for $90 million earlier this year. Before its acquisition, it looks like Pry secured a significant domain name upgrade.
Founded in 2019, Pry Financials is a financial planning platform that helps founders to forecast income and expenditure, breaking all the data down into legible graphs. It has enabled hundreds of its clients to ditch spreadsheets in favor of a simpler system.
The company was acquired by fintech unicorn Brex for $90 million in April 2022, but before that deal was announced, Pry secured the Pry.com domain.
According to Whois history, the domain moved to a privacy-protected GoDaddy account in February 2022, transferring in from Name.com. In February 2022, brokers Lumis also tweeted that the company had brokered the sale of Pry.com. Quickly, Pry.com’s nameservers changed to match the same Cloudflare nameservers used for Pry.co, the company’s original domain.
It’s only recently, though, that Pry.com has started to forward to Pry.co. It’s likely, based on what we’ve seen from other companies that upgrade from a .co to a .com, that Pry will eventually move its website and platform from Pry.co to Pry.com.
